Los ciclos de la luna
The Cycles of the Moon is a self-exploration project that connects tradition, time, and genealogy through bread and maternal care as a historical and genetic inheritance of an ancient lineage. Rituals, present in all cultures, function as acts of transmission, belonging, and continuity.
The work is inspired by practices within Judaism associated with the making of challah and the Hafrashat challah (separating the challah), a gesture performed by women that consists of setting aside a portion of dough and reciting a blessing. From its symbolic and performative dimension, the project reinterprets these acts from a universal perspective.

Braiding bread and hair becomes a shared gesture: both actions involve care, time, and repetition. The braid orders, protects, and binds; it is a form of memory that links bodies, generations, and knowledge.
Kneading and braiding thus become intimate acts that shape matter and sustain inheritance.
