THRESHOLD

2026 | Textile installation
Materials: Donated doilies and tablecloths, lace, and yarn.
Dimensions: 700 × 200 cm

Threshold is part of a series that investigates the goal as a device for measuring boundaries and limits. In sport, the goal is where success and failure become visible; a threshold that determines what enters and what remains outside.

The net is constructed from used domestic textiles—tablecloths, lace doilies, and napkins—donated by different people. These materials retain stains, marks, and traces of use that function as a material archive of time.

Stretched across the goal’s structure, the textiles become a barrier that appears solid while retaining its vulnerability. Thread operates as a minimal architecture that connects and sustains. Each point of tension marks the boundary between holding together and giving way.

Fragility does not disappear within the woven structure; it becomes a shared condition whose strength lies in interdependence.
